UVP users testimonials

University of Leeds

Prof. Dr. Timothy Hunter – Head of the Nuclear Engineering Group, University of Leeds, UK

We have used the UVP-DUO for over 15 years with our industrial collaborators to characterize and monitor nuclear waste slurry flows remotely and non-invasively. We use both the velocity profiling and backscatter functions, allowing us to simultaneously measure particle deposition, concentration segregation and rheology profiling. We love the array of probes available, the robust multiplexer and simple to use software, giving us absolute confidence in the measurements, and allowing us to focus on complexly understanding these complex industrial flows.

Universidade Federal do Parana

Prof. Dr. Fábio Rizental Coutinho – Department of Electronic Engineering, Federal University of Technology of Paraná State, Brazil

I have been studying and working with Ultrasound Velocity Profiling (UVP) for ten years as a university researcher. As far as I know, UVP equipment from Met-flow is considered the “golden reference technology” in this field due to its long history, reliability, and ease of use. These can be seen in the hundreds of papers published using UVP equipment from Met-Flow.

University of Leeds

Dr. Hugh Rice – Postdoctoral research fellow, School of Geography, University of Leeds, UK

As a researcher in complex multiphase flow, I used Met-Flow’s UVP-DUO instrument for several years to perform velocimetry, concentration measurement and rheometry. The UVP-DUO is very versatile and easy to use, and its software is fast and stable.

Universidad de la republica URUGAY

Prof. Dr. Francisco Pedocchi and Prof. Dr. Rodrigo Mosquera, Instituto de Mecánica de los Fluidos e Ingeniería Ambiental, Facultad de Ingeniería, Universidad de la República, Uruguay

Met-Flow’s velocity profiles significantly enhanced our research at Universidad de la República. It allowed us to perform precise measurements in turbid waters, analyse complex flows, observe secondary currents, and estimate suspended sediment concentrations. It has proven invaluable for our work in hydraulics and sediment transport.

Hochschule Stralsund

Prof. Heiko Meironke, Institute of Renewable Energy Systems, University of Applied Science Stralsund, Germany

We have been successfully using Met-Flow’s UVP systems for many years, particularly for measuring velocities in biologically active fluids. In several projects, we have used a 2D ultrasonic array to investigate velocity fields in fermenting multiphase flows in the food and beverage industry, for example by coupling two UVP-DUO Multiplexer devices to realise great flexibility in the velocity bandwidth, using two basic frequencies with a maximum of measurement depth.
